June 2015 newsletter

Welcome to our June Newsletter!

As the weather hots up (and this summer we all hope that it's only the weather that get's heated) we bring you an exclusive interview (which I highly recommend, it's a fascinating read), news of our involvement in an exciting new scheme for couples to visit Israel, and a review of the third annual FestivaLimmud we have organized, which proved to be both informative and moving when it was held in Karmiel last week.

Lastly, a big thank you for all your support during our recent campaign.   With your help we kept the wolf from the door.   We are a grassroots organization reliant on donations   To be able to share our vision for a pluralistic, safe, shared society in Israel and be able to bridge the divides between people from all backgrounds whatever their socio-economic situation, we must subsidize participation heavily.   It is thanks to the support of people like you who share our vision that we are able to do this.   If you would like to help us, no amount is too small.   Click here for ways to donate.

Have a great summer!

A honeymoon where?

Honeymoon Israel goes live, and Galilee Foundation for Value Education helps show the real Israel

In starting a ''Birthright'' style trip for young couples, founders and Co-CEOs Mike Wise and Avi Rubel knew they were dealing with savvy adults, who would expect something more challenging from Honeymoon Israel than a tour of the ''usual sites''.   As Avi says, ''This is not a Disney World trip.   We want people to see Israel in all its complexity.''   Which is Makom Bagalil's specialty...

FestivaLimmud 2015

Third annual day of open-minded learning in Karmiel showed how things could be

For the third time FestivaLimmud demonstrated what we try to achieve through our work during the year: that shared society, collaboration and dialogue bring their own rewards and benefits to us all.   We can be a wonderful collage, more than sum of our parts...
