With generous support from the Jewish Federations of Pittsburgh and Detroit, and private donors, we offer a varied menu of programs designed to bring together local residents from different backgrounds for the exploration of Jewish texts and their relevance to current issues, in a pluralistic setting. All programming is conducted in Hebrew. Herewith is a sampling of offerings for 2011-12. If you'd like to participate, call our office for details of time and place.
- ''Jewish Spirit in the Galilee:'' a pluralistic coalition of organizations engaged in adult Jewish education, producing quarterly community-wide cultural events, and new for this year - joint study groups with peers in Pittsburgh.
- NEW this year: we are initiating a network of ''chevrutot,'' individuals studying Jewish texts independently with partners; we provide ''matchmaking,'' coaching, and materials.
- Bar/Bat mitzvah workshops for parents and children, at various communities in the region.
- Lectures, batei midrash, and holiday workshops, in various communities in the region. For example, a monthly bet midrash for students, teachers, and parents at the ORT high school in Hatzor.
